European Portuguese numbers, dates, prices and time

Handle phone numbers, euros, appointments and the 24-hour schedules used in transport and official life in Portugal.

Numbers become useful when attached to a task: giving a phone number, understanding a price, scheduling an appointment or reading a departure board.

Build numbers around transactions

Practise 0–20, tens and hundreds through prices, addresses and identification details. Notice gender agreement in um/uma and dois/duas.

Dates in Portugal

Day–month–year order is standard, and dates commonly use de: 21 de julho de 2026. Learn weekdays and months in lowercase.

Clock time and schedules

Use É uma but São duas. Everyday speech and 24-hour official schedules coexist, so practise both an appointment and a train departure.
